Monges corcundas (ou então de pequeníssima estatura). Conversas solitárias com ratos e aranhas. Salas claustrofóbicas. Penitência – de quê? Silêncio. Momentos de meditação e refúgio – na natureza.

 

Parque e Palácio de Monserrate

Parei no tempo. Imaginei famílias reais à luz das velas em acesos debates na biblioteca. Promessas de amor perdidas por entre o murmúrio dos lagos. Longos passeios de Lordes e Ladies saídos de um filme de época da BBC.

A seguir: pausa para degustar – melhor dizendo, comer à bruta logo dois, só porque vêm quentinhos – os divinais travesseiros da Piriquita II – são mesmo os melhores, não há comparação possível!

Muita parra e pouca uva, boas personagens transformadas em live action figures… E havia ali muito por onde pegar. Se fosse qualquer outro personagem dos X-Men era indiferente… agora fazerem isto ao Wolverine? Não se admite!

Meninas, aprendam: se o príncipe encantado ainda não deu com o vosso palácio para vos calçar o sapatinho de cristal, talvez o tenha deitado fora… As excepções existem, mas são raras (daí a designação). Chances are: you’re the rule!

Não leva mais uma estrelinha inteira porque, apesar de apregoar que os finais felizes não são para todos, lá arranjaram maneira de espetar um em todos os personagens (e são muitos), defeating the purpose.

Gigi: Girls are taught a lot of stuff growing up. If a guy punches you he likes you. Never try to trim your own bangs and someday you will meet a wonderful guy and get your very own happy ending. Every movie we see, Every story we’re told implores us to wait for it, the third act twist, the unexpected declaration of love, the exception to the rule. But sometimes we’re so focused on finding our happy ending we don’t learn how to read the signs. How to tell from the ones who want us and the ones who don’t, the ones who will stay and the ones who will leave. And maybe a happy ending doesn’t include a guy, maybe… it’s you, on your own, picking up the pieces and starting over, freeing yourself up for something better in the future. Maybe the happy ending is… just… moving on. Or maybe the happy ending is this, knowing after all the unreturned phone calls, broken-hearts, through the blunders and misread signals, through all the pain and embarrassment you never gave up hope.

Ben Affleck a esforçar-se por mostrar que é bom actor (quando irá ele perceber que não convence ninguém…); Russell Crowe a comprovar, once again, que é um actor do caraças; e a Rachel McAdams fica sempre bem em qualquer filme.
